Remember those new Acer devices that Zealot told us about a couple months ago? Well, I have got my hands on the Acer Tempo M900. This is the one with the big old 3.8″ screen, biometric scanner, and slide out qwerty. Can it keep me from yearning for the Touch Pro 2? Who knows. I just got it today and it’s on charge. I will do some video of the unique UI and hardware in the next couple days. The only impressions I can share at this time is that the keyboard feels awesome.

The Acer Tempo M900 features a large 3.8” WVGA touch screen, Windows Mobile 6.1, Outlook Mobile and a sliding physical keyboard that – quite literally – puts your office in your hands. And don’t worry about data security – the embedded fingerprint reader makes sure only you can access your smartphone and the data you move with it.

Stay tuned for more…

I have had 5 pdas so far. Between SIRF III and Qualcomm GPS chipset pdas, and I can honestly tell you Qualcomm is so slow compares to SIRF III chips.

Thank you ACER for only using SIRF III GPS chipsets.

I really liked the HTC TOUCH PRO2, but it lost me when I saw it uses Qualcomm GPS chipset.

So my next phone is M900. The only other feature which i like that this one doesn't have is a TV out, other than that, it's the best that is out there.

Well done ACER, your on the right track.

Anxiously awaiting your findings. I've got high hopes for this phone.

The biggest mystery for me is this new samsung processor. Could you please test out the quality of streaming videos in skyfire (such as on hulu, or even better, live sports on atdhe.net)?

Also, I'm curious about your experience with the responsiveness of the touchscreen. The youtube videos from MWC made it look like a nightmare.

    Thanks very much.

could this be a replacement for my dying tilt?
  • It's not available yet. I got a testing unit to try out. It's going to take a few days to really dig in. This thing is pretty cool so far though.

Looking forward to this review. Where and when will these be made available? I'm not a big fan of the tilting screen (I have an ATT Tilt) and I am fully stoked on the size of this device. With some ROM cookery this could be the one for me.

    2.5mm stereo jack!? Agghh! Why???

Is there something about a 3.5mm audio jack that makes it so incredibly difficult to put in a device?

Otherwise, this thing looks sweet. Looking forward to your video review!
