Android Community has published pictures and a video of what seems to be a new release of Android that goes under the code name of "Rosie".

Videos demonstrating what’s believed to be a future build of Android have been leaked, courtesy of Haykuro of the xdadevelopers forum.  The videos, which you can see below, show a new, advanced Android desktop with more widgets and a streamlined GUI.

There seems to be a lot of press and speculation about android recently. If I understand correctly, the android milestones are:
    Android 1.5 "cupcake"
    Android 2.0 "donut"
    Android 2.5 "eclair"
Is this "rosie" a customized android version by HTC meant for specific phone (hero), or will this be another Android version that runs on all devices (including G1), or something in-between?
As I have had cupcake now since almost the beginning of May, I was trying to find out about what's next and it seems a bit confusing. Then again I remember something similar when Android 1.1 was about out, everyone was confuesd about if cupcake would be the next version or not.
If people are still anxious for cupcake (I know I would be), this looks like something we should all hope comes to our phones soon.
I await donut and eclair until I figure out rosie or a better android build.
  • Good catch, uwaku. :)

Love the mockup. Note the disparity between the clock times.
