Wrong. I have the Acer Tempo M900 in hand. In fact, I forgot that I haven’t even done a video or take photos of this device yet. Wow… Sorry. I’ll get some photos up soon. Anyhow, I guess the point is that there is a rumor out there that the Acer line of new smartphones won’t officially be available here in the US until 2010.

Last month, Acer officially unveiled a handful of Windows Mobile phones in Singapore. You’d expect them to make it to the US eventually right? Well, they probably still will, but not until 2010 says Gearlog (via)…

Acer’s been having a lot of press events for their laptop and notebook lines here in New York, but they haven’t said much about their smart phones. So we asked. According to Acer’s laptop PR folks, Acer now isn’t planning any US smart phones until 2010.

I’d say that this is a big bummer really. In the M900’s case, if it doesn’t make it to market before the Touch Pro 2, it’s going to have huge issue selling itself in my opinion. I’ve used both and they are comparable. If HTC beats them to the punch, which it sounds like they will now, I fear it’s game over for the M900.

  • Yes, there are a ton of new phones with windows mobile this year. Many of the big manufacturers are in the game and windows mobile is getting even stronger.

Sad that the carriers have so much power in the US and there are no alternatives to picking up handsets like in Europe.
