More Blackberry Storm 2

Posted by Chris Leckness on May 22, 2009 | Comments

I don’t know if you remember the “Exclusive Photos” of the Blackberry Storm 2 that I posted about the other day, but there is more now. The post I made was about two different sites posting the same photos and both calling them “Exclusives”. No biggie. Now Engadget has gotten some personal hands on with the Blackberry Storm 2. First off, let’s confirm the huge news: RIM’s abandoned...

OQO Inc. is dead, long live the King!

Posted by ctitanic on May 22, 2009 | Comments

We all were expecting this news but still a very sad one.  "We are sad to report that due to financial constraints, OQO is not able to offer repair and service support at this time.  We are deeply sorry that despite our best intentions, we are unable to provide continued support for our faithful customers.  Please accept our sincerest apologies" OQO was one of the pioneers in what later was...

Just in time for this weekend…IndyCar Mobile

Posted by Adam Wyss on May 21, 2009 | Comments

I was just saying the other day how awesome it would be to see an official Indianapolis 500 application put out in the App Store just in time for the Greatest Spectacle In Racing this weekend.  Well it wasn’t exactly what I had envisioned being released but the Indy Racing League yesterday released IndyCar Mobile for the iPhone OS.  It features up to date standings, news, pictures, and videos along with live...

Kindle Updated…Stanza Purchase Pays Off

Posted by Adam Wyss on May 21, 2009 | Comments

Yesterday Amazon’s Kindle application for iPhone was updated to version 1.1 and it brings over a lot of improved and new features that were clearly brought over from the Stanza developers.  First off, we have the ability to change color schemes.  We still have the traditional black text on white but now we also have white/grey text on black or also a sepia color scheme (shown, Image Courtesy of CNET). ...

AT&T confirms cheaper data plan

Posted by Mic W. on May 21, 2009 | Comments

With AT&T contract to be the exclusive iPhone service provider expiring in 2010 it looks like AT&T may have to deal with some competition.  Following a report from earlier this week claiming that AT&T was considering a limited data access plan for iPhone users which would drop the monthly cost of an iPhone by $10, AT&T Mobility CEO Ralph de la Vega has confirmed that the company is contemplating cheaper...

Photos of WinMo Devices You’ll Probably Never See…

Posted by Chris Leckness on May 21, 2009 | Comments

I am not saying that in a bad way, but seriously, 99% of our readers will probably never see either of these in the flesh, but they are still hot looking. As usual, my buddy Arne over at the::unwired has them both with stunning photos for all to enjoy! We have the Samsung GT-I7500 Galaxy and the Toshiba TG01. The Samsung GT-I7500 is an Adroid phone and the TG01 is a WinMo device. The TG01’s dimensions are almost...

Smart Devices Q7 video review

Posted by ctitanic on May 21, 2009 | Comments

The Smart Q7 is one of the best design I have seen in a MID. And today UMPC Portal has released a review of this device very detailed for those who are thinking to buy in the near future. I had very well-managed expectations for this sub $200 tablet based on ARM architecture and a Linux operating system from a Chinese company and sold through what we thought was a very strange reseller in China. I’ve unboxed the device...

Lots of HTC Touch Pro 2 News

Posted by Chris Leckness on May 20, 2009 | Comments

Tons of info hitting the web about the Touch Pro 2 these last couple days. If you didn’t know it, this will be my next go to device, but I am saddened to know that Sprint is getting it 1st. I don’t have issues with Sprint, but I use AT&T and if Sprint is getting the Touch Pro 2 first, then it will probably be 3-6 months depending on what ever exclusive Sprint got before any other carriers get it. My guess...

HTC Touch Diamond 2 Video 1st Look

Posted by Chris Leckness on May 20, 2009 | Comments

Sorry for the delay, but here is the Touch Diamond 2 video I promised. My editing software kept crashing during the final stages so I had to use Windows Movie Maker. AKPC_IDS += "25629,"; Read More →

Android “Rosie”

Posted by ctitanic on May 20, 2009 | Comments

Android Community has published pictures and a video of what seems to be a new release of Android that goes under the code name of "Rosie". Videos demonstrating what’s believed to be a future build of Android have been leaked, courtesy of Haykuro of the xdadevelopers forum.  The videos, which you can see below, show a new, advanced Android desktop with more widgets and a streamlined GUI. I still waiting...

Eminem on the iPhone?

Posted by Chris Leckness on May 19, 2009 | Comments

Is everyone getting an app for that? Wow. Eminem? Apparently they are hooking up an app for the iPhone to hype his upcoming album. He has been out of the crosshairs a while, so it’s time to jump back in I suppose. It’s supposed to come out today. Check the iTunes Store to see. According to the album page on Slim’s official website, the Relapse game is due for release on the same day, 19th May. Judging...

1st Impressions of the HTC Touch Diamond 2

Posted by Chris Leckness on May 19, 2009 | Comments

Back at CTIA last month, I was able to take the Touch Diamond 2, the Snap, and even the Touch Pro 2 for a spin. I really love all 3 and the Diamond 2 is probably the least likely of the 3 to be my daily driver. That is mainly because of not having a keyboard. Well, I have one in hand now and since I don’t have the other 2 yet, it’s feeling quite nice. I love a new phone in the morning. I will have my video...

Palm Pre on June 6th

Posted by Chris Leckness on May 19, 2009 | Comments

I guess it’s official? Crunchgear posted a press release (after the break) that dropped today stating that the Palm Pre will be available on June 6th for $199.99 w/ contract. They can’t be any clearer than that now can they? This is just a day after the New York Times said that the Palm Pre would be out the 1st week of June. Did Sprint/Palm decide to just announce it since the NYT leaked the date? What do...

Microsoft’s My Phone Beta Extended to All

Posted by Chris Leckness on May 19, 2009 | Comments

Do you remember this service I took a good 1st look at back in February? Well, it’s open for all now. They have opened the beta to all users. No waiting for a code, just head over and get started. We just completed upgrading the My Phone web portal.   Over the next few weeks, we will be updating the companion software for your phone, at which time you will be prompted to download the updated software. ...

Just Thinking Out Loud

Posted by George on May 19, 2009 | Comments

I have a feeling we should be seeing a lot of “iPhone 2009″ (term coined by us here at iPhone@Mobility) leaks in the next few weeks/days… My reasoning is that today, Palm Pre apparently just announced its availability in early June, as well, the Nokia N97 is apparently ready to launch around the same time. This first week of June will be busy, Apple’s WWDC, and those 2 phones all scheduled to...

Matt from Tracy and Matt’s Blog has done a variety if different videos that have shown us a myriad of devices but by far this is the best one he has ever done.  Clearly he is a talented fellow!  Check it out, not only will you see a little about HTC’s Magic but more importantly, you will enjoy a creative presentation! The HTC Magic looks like being an extremely popular device. As the second Android...

Apple asks devs to help test Push Notifications

Posted by Mic W. on May 18, 2009 | Comments

Screenshot of the iPhone’s new notification system. In an e-mail sent to iPhone developers Monday, Apple asked them to try out the AP’s news app for the iPhone, the first third-party application to incorporate long-awaited “push” notification on the device. The e-mail asked developers who would like to participate to install the AP News application on an iPhone running iPhone OS 3.0 beta 5. Apple...

Ozzy and Jack, The Samsung Jack…

Posted by Chris Leckness on May 18, 2009 | Comments

Nope, once again, not Jack Cook. The Samsung Jack and Ozzy are made to be together. Seriously though, Samsung and Ozzy have teamed up for a commercial. Seems Ozzy is getting around lately. He’s got the World of Warcraft commercial and now a Windows Mobile Phone commercial. Woot. Here it is. Thanks Tracy. AKPC_IDS += "25617,"; Read More →
