HTC Touch Pro 2 – Me Too!

I just wanted to add some thoughts about the Touch Pro 2. First I want to say that I ordered my own last week and got it in earlier than I expected on Friday. As you can see, I didn’t get around to posting any photos or videos over the weekend. I was super busy this weekend with being on call, my son’s Taekwondo, and other responsibilities. I feel awful that I have this hot phone in hand and haven’t had a chance to share yet. Look for some Touch Pro 2 pr0n tonight or tomorrow morning, but for now, let me share some thoughts.
I am working on my review of the overseas version of the HTC Touch Diamond right now as well and I can say that the Touch Pro 2 and the Diamond 2 are very similar. Here is my video 1st look at the Touch Diamond 2. The software is almost identical, the hardware is obviously a bit different, and the performance is close but the Touch Pro 2 is a little bit slower than the Diamond 2. Since these are European, unlocked modesl, both devices are not capable of 3G usage in the US, but where I live in Alabama, we don’t have 3G yet anyhow.
When I had my 1st hands on with the Touch Pro 2 a couple months ago at CTIA, I instantly fell in love. Now that I have my own, I am not dissappointed, but I am not as excited as I expected to be. Other than the speed and responsiveness, I don’t know that it’s totally worth the price to upgrade from the Touch Pro (HTC Fuze in my case). HTC has refined Touch Flo to where you can do most everything that many users will ever need to do without really knowing you are using a WinMo phone. To me, that’s not that big of a deal, but some have grown to dislike WinMo so much that the simple, familiar Windows Mobile look and feel are considered bad. HTC’s Touch Flo and other enhancements pretty up those aspects so they really should have nothing to hate on.
If you watch the Diamond 2 1st look or the upcoming Touch Pro 2 1st look, you will see some stellar enchancements that make setting up internet and such a snap. I mentioned the auto configuration setup in my Diamond 2 initial impressions post a couple weeks ago too. This tool on the Touch Pro 2 is a little different though, it’s actually easier. I will show that in my video. I was setup on AT&T’s network in no time.
More impressions later. This is a really fun phone guys and gals! I won’t have a full review of this one for a couple weeks though. I don’t plan to rush a review out, not to mention the fact that I owe you guys a Diamond 2 and Propel Pro review 1st!
