In a world where cell phones seem ubiquitous, and many of us feel naked without our mobile phones, it is good to remember that there are places in the world that are just beginning to discover the freedom that mobile communication can bring. Starting in August the tiny island nation of Nauru will get its first cell service from Digicell.
Nauru is the world’s smallest independent island nation and is located in...
Neowin is running a brief but tasty interview with a source they call TK, who is supposedly a software engineer at Microsoft and has a good track record with them on Zune info.
The put several key questions to him about the upcoming Zune HD, and here are some of the most interesting ones, with his responses…
RR: What are you most looking forward to with the ZHD & Zune 4.0?
TK: Improved battery life, multi-touch...

One of the first things i do with a mobile browser after download and installation, is run it through a site gauntlet, that is, a mix of sites with oodles of embedded media. The first browser to push daises during this test was Pocket IE, which almost goes without saying. Detected as a mobile browser by most sites, limited settings, and non-existent Flash or Javascript support, Microsoft’s browser has long been...

First off, I would like to open by thanking Matthew Gould again for his time in helping me with this. I just got off the phone with him and he is the VP of Corporate Communications for MLB.com. One thing that he made very clear was that their goal here is to bring live baseball to as many fans as possible. This may mean live video, live audio, MLB GameDay which shows the live pitch data, box scores,...

WikiPock is a utility for Windows Mobile devices and Blackberrys, that lets you search Wikipedia without being connected to a network. The costs for this convenience is quite reasonable. The Basic version is $9.99 and the Plus Version, which includes updates for a year and two additional databases, is $14.99. The additional databases are Wikiquote, and Wiktionary. The wikipedia database is currently 5 gig in size. ...

Here’s the scenario. You’re taking an advanced math class that requires a calculator with advanced features. You already paid God-knows-how-much for a nice WinMo smartphone, and can’t afford a fancy calculator.
What do you do? Make your smartphone a fancy calculator. Calctor, by Tommy Carlier, is a calculator with advanced features that keeps it simple. This is Calctor.
Very simple. ...
I saw this today and was pretty excited to see it. Not only do I like the phone but the price makes it very appealing for someone that wants to experience Windows Mobile at an impressive price.

Guys, are you curious what your “Old Lady” is up too when your not around, or when she’s out on a “girls night out”?
Well, worry no more. I present Phone Creeper Espionage Suite!
Chetstriker has created an app that will help a lot of parinoid guys sleep at night, (and get some in major trouble if the old lady finds out you’ve put this app on her phone).

I’ve been exploring creative ways to use the camera on my Windows Mobile device to boost my productivity. Qipit provides a way to copy and email or fax documents to anyone at any time from any web enabled mobile device.
Qipit works from any mobile device that has a web browser and is not limited to windows mobile handhelds, iphones or any other mobile device. Qipit is almost like having a scanner...

A couple days ago I presented a software program called, CopyPaste Tool, a utility that allows you to copy multiple clips of information before pasting. I liked it, but it had some issues. As you know, the Windows Clipboard only allows you to copy one item at a time. If you find yourself copying then pasting over and over, then a program like CopyPaste Tool or the new one I will present, will allow you...

To me, the Fujitsu ST6012 is one of the best looking slate tablet pc released in the last few years. From the point of view of Hardware is not bad either. The only point I don’t like is the price. Come on! Is this an Apple?! $2000!? $2579!? have they heard about the reception?!
Any way, GotBeMobile has posted some really good pictures of this Tablet PC.
Except for still feeling a little sluggish, I have not lacked...

Some interesting news here today with zune. To begin, Gizmodo just posted a story regarding the release date and capacities of the Zune Hd. An anonymous tipster sent them some secret documents regarding the zune, revealing(confirming) , it’ll be shipping in 16/32 gig capacitys, on September 8th. Accompanied with this leak is a nice promo pic:
Not only this though, but at a microsoft event in Manhattan, some lucky...
A tipster whose name was not revealed just dropped some internal marketing documents over at Gizmodo that list the initial capacities for the Zune HD, 16G in black and 32G in silver. The documents also mention the US release date…September 8.
Two and a half months…think that is enough time to convince MS to release one in 64G, maybe in charcoal or gunmetal? Gosh I hope so.
Oh, the tipster also provided the beautiful...

Remember that invite HTC put out earlier this month that had everyone guessing? Ya, well that day is today and here’s what it was all about, another Android phone with a chin…
The Hero has all the specs you’d expect from a current HTC device. It has a Qualcomm 528 MHz processor, 512 MB RAM, 288 MB ROM, G Sensor, GPS, Bluetooth 2.0, 1350 maH battery, 5 megapixel camera, a trackball, and MicroSD expansion...

Yes, I installed Microsoft Security Essentials Beta. It’s too early for an educated opinion. Testing an AV is not easy unless you have a private Zoo full of Virus and Spyware.
Still, I scanned my PC and it found two issues. One of them is a version of VNC that I use to remotely assist some clients. So even when there is some risk I would call this a false alarm in my particular case. The other one was a legit one....

WildCharge, manufacturer of the WildCharger Pad, is launching today its WildCharge Skins for iPhone and iPodTouch. The pad has to be plugged to a power outlet and your mobile phone equipped with the corresponding skin, the device is charged by placing it on the pad. Wildcharge recently launched its Universal Adapter that acts as a Skin and is compatible...
One of the biggest things that OS 3.0 brought us was third party accessories. I have a dream….for the perfect iPhone accessory for those with home theaters! :)
My dream is this: a universal remote! Now I’m not talking about a one size fits all, terrible to program remote like you can get for $10 at your local convenience store. What I want is a truly killer remote application developed by none...

Don’t you often find yourself going back and forth, copying things from two or more sources to paste them into one? My work database is separate from my contacts database, so I have to copy the name, then paste it into my contacts database, then copy the address, then the zip, and phone numbers. It’s time consuming and tedious. But I found a cool, free software that will change all that!

UMPC Portal is reporting that Kohjinsha is breaking it’s recent silence with a new UMPC, the SK3, designed to run Windows 7. The device looks great from the pictures (all serious information appears to still be in Japanese) and will be available in Japan by the end of the month today.
I came very close to buying a Kohjinsha device some months ago but it ended up being pushed off my wishlist by other more mainstream...
