After several near clamitous calendar crashes, my wife and I decided we needed a merged calendar. We use the free version of Plaxo for the sync. We each sync our work calendars to the same Plaxo account. We then sync our phones to our work computers (or in my case, Microsoft Exchange, which can sync via the cloud.

The merged calendar looks daunting, but is easy enough to discern with categories or colors. It is pretty simple, and works seamlessly. The only agreement we had to make was to turn all reminders off. Getting beeped for another person's appointments is highly annoying!

In the "picture is worth 1000 words" department, it might be useful to draw a diagram of your calendars and devices and how they sync with which software. I think I'd find that easier to follow.

Steve

If you have a Mac, Busy Sync and Spanning Sync are two alternatives that work great. I use Nueva Sync to sync my Google Calendar with my WM phone, making my Google calendar the hub (I never sync the phone with my Mac anymore, as it kept breaking anyway and is such a hassle.)
