Personally I prefer to be able to buy the CD especially if it's by a band or artist I really enjoy listening to or have heard alot about. I feel that it's much more substantial. Like buying a good book. You want to be able to hold it and see it and really own it, not just own some digital copy of it, even if it may be more convenient. Most of the friends I know buy or borrow the CDs so that they can look at the whole package, the cover art, the lyrics, the band/artist thanks, etc. But then again, thats just my point of view. (I'm going to be 16 by the way)

I personally prefer buying the CD. I'm the only teen I know that still buys CDs. I prefer the CD because 1) I think its nice to have a CD collection and 2) It guarantees that I have the music forever, where as if I buy it from iTunes, if I lose the file it's gone. I have to pay for another one.

Thats why I prefer the CD.

I don't know about the UK, but I have two nephews(13 years old and 8 years old) and they have never bought or had a cd given to them. The oldest nephew has over 780 songs on his cell. The 8 year old has about 300 on his mp3 player. I'm in my thirties and I haven't bought a cd this decade. That's how it is in America.

I think I'd trust the (hopefully) scientific survery, not the teen's (possibly exaggerated) impression based on his small circle of acquaintances.

Steve
