Motorola Keeps on ROKRin’

Never let it be said that Moto EVER let go of something that sells, therefore we have a new version of their ROKR line of popular music phones, the touchscreen/slider ROKR ZN50. Released only in Korea, this one still is a VERY nice looking feature phone with a heavy focus, obviously, towards music. As far as the form is concerned, I admit I am feelin’ that slight incline the touchscreen is at, looks like it would feel good to use.
A full set of music controls are along the sides of the handset, so the device so neither the slider and the touchscreen are needed to navigate and play music. Another bonus is that for Koreans who buy the ROKR before December, there is free access to the popular Korean music service MelOn if they access it from the handset.
Here are the specs…
- 3.2-inch touchscreen (427 x 240 resolution). The screen is “panoramic” meaning it is made of three separate screen elements to allow for more independently placed widgets and what not.
- Sliding keypad
- Automatic screen rotation
- Motion sensor (shake to switch tracks)
- 3.5 millimeter headphone jack
- Bluetooth stereo headset support
- SRS WOW HD audio tech
- Battery rated for 30 hours of audio playback
- T-DMB TV tuner
- 4GB of inbuilt memory
- MicroSDHC card slot
- 3.2 megapixel camera,
- 7.2Mbps HSDPA support
The handset is currently only available in Korea from SK Telecom with no plan to make it available elsewhere as of yet. Who knows, if it hits the top of the charts then they may take it on the road.
