Omnia II Stuff

Now I really hope the Omnia II comes to AT&T. I just learned some interesting things about it from reading pocketnow.com.
For one thing, Outlook Mobile is skinned. I knew the calendar and other apps were skinned, but I didn’t know Outlook was skinned as well. Hopefully it has improved folder browsing in IMAP, because that was kind of a painful task in regular Outlook Mobile.
Another nice feature is a dual-LED flash. Provides a bright light. I just hope it’s automatic. My first two phones didn’t have automatic flash. I don’t understand why they put a flash and not make it automatic. That’s like……that’s like……ok I can’t think of an analogy, but it’s really stupid.
And speaking of cameras, the video camera on the Omnia II can record videos at 720×480 res at 30fps. That sounds real good, and I hope it puts out good videos. And when showing off those videos, you can use the TV Out feature on the phone.
Other things include a proximity sensor for saving battery during a call, CPU throttling which allows you to control CPU performance at the expense of battery, and 3 home screens in TouchWiz for more widgets.
On the downside, the AMOLED screen will be a little hard to see outside on a bright day, and I also read (on Engadget) that although it got approved for US 3G, it may end up being sent to Latin America instead. I know that the Dominican Republic uses those bands, and maybe some other countries do as well. Hopefully it will be easy to import if it doesn’t hit the US.
