According to Digitimes, the Garmin-Asus Nuvifone G60 might be coming to AT&T sometime soon. The G60 is a linux based GPS phone.

Meanwhile, Garmin-Asus is preparing to ship the Linux-based Nuvifone G60 smartphones to AT&T, which will start marketing the LBS (location-based service)-centric handsets in the North American market this quarter, the Chinese-language Commercial Times quoted Asustek chairman Jonney Shih as indicating.

Another source, Pocket Lint, is reporting that my favorite, the M20, might be hitting AT&T as well. The M20 was launched yesterday in Taiwan. I’ve had a chance to play with this one and it’s pretty solid. Very lightweight too.

However, a quick chat with a representative for Garmin Asus after the press conference revealed that the M20 is destined for AT&T in the US.

Now I don’t think I have to remind you all that this is all just rumor and speculation right? Digitimes has a pretty decent track record for getting it right, but remember, they are the ones that reported 1,043 times that Dell was working on a smartphone. Finally on the 1,043rd time they were right.

Do you think their is still a market out there for a phone with GPS as the “main feature” now that so many phones are coming with their own solutions?
