The select few that have seen it though have given us a good idea of the quality product we can expect in just a month. Their isn’t much news here, but I think it’s interesting to take a look at just what the lucky few people have been saying.
I got a few minutes of hands-on time with Microsoft’s forthcoming Zune HD at a Microsoft event on Thursday, and I came away thinking that Microsoft might finally have a contender.
There was a bit of a learning curve, but after a couple minutes I was impressed by how much functionality Microsoft was able to pack into such a small screen.
We managed to track down the beast and toy with it a bit, and we must say… the thing kind of rocks. In your hand the Zune HD has a nice, solid feel, with good heft to it and a surprisingly thin profile.
The OLED screen looks absolutely stunning — even at severe viewing angles, colors were super bright, edges were crisp, and text looked beautiful
Having just played with a prototype for a few minutes, I’m really impressed with the Zune HD.
The device is tighter and more physically beautiful than the iPod Touch and it’s got a better UI, the main menu’s scrolling so natural through the swipe gestures.
To be perfectly honest, I wasn’t especially excited about the forthcoming Zune HD–not until I actually got the chance to have some hands-on time with the device
The hardware itself looks very sleek. The device is a lot slimmer than I had originally suspected. Microsoft is certainly starting to edge in on the iPod in the aesthetics department
It’s awesome! Great UX. Don’t know about battery life yet, mine hasn’t run out.
Unfortunately, we don’t have all the info about the device, so no one can review it based on features/hardware. But going based on User Experience, from what I’ve read, the zune HD will be golden.
36 days till you can see for yourself.
