AppleInsider is reporting the following rumor about the widely anticipated new camera-equipped iPods, expected to be announced in two days…
A person with a strong track record in predicting Apple’s upcoming product launches said that the iPod maker experienced technical problems with the cameras months ago. The person said that it was uncertain whether the new hardware, which has been widely expected to debut at Wednesday’s "Only rock and roll" media-centric event, would make the cut for early September.
I label this rumor as highly doubtful since if this problem came up months ago, Apple could have been expected to have either found a way around it or done something about the heavy buzz surrounding this announcement, which they only confirmed the date and existence of a couple weeks ago. Apple has always been nearly flawless at both building and controlling expectations.I can’t see them setting themselves up for the black eye of either not coming through with an announcement about the cameras on the 9th, or worse, announcing them and then not being able to deliver the devices for a couple months.
Also, if the camera works fine in the iPhone, what possible problem could have arisen in the iPod Touch?
Still, it is possible….and there is no way to know until the 9th.
