As should come as no surprise, Microsoft will have new Zune Desktop software (Zune 4.0?) available for download on September 15th to coincide with the Zune HD launch. Expect changes to the Marketplace, with the addition of HD Video and Applications…and possibly some look and feel tweaks as well.

Also, Neowin says Microsoft has confirmed what Paul Thurrott leaked already….as of the 15th, only Zune HD models will be available, all other Zunes will be discontinued. Sigh.
