Bye bye TouchFlo 3D, I will come back to you later.

This is not a review 1st of all, this is just my quick thoughts after using it for a couple days. We have a full review coming in the next couple days. If you are interested in buying Mobile Shell 3.5, it will set you back $29.95 and you can grab it in our software store (Free Trial included there also).

I have turned off TouchFlo on my Touch Pro 2. I am really digging this current version of SPB Mobile Shell 3.5 and believe it or not, I am liking widgets now. I hated widgets on the Omnia, but the HTC Hero and now Mobile Shell has me enjoying them for the 1st time.

Check out a demo video from eprice at a press conference and my screen shots after the break.

Here is how I have my install set up.

The shell screen has the capability of going 1 screen, 3 screens, or 5 screens. You flick left to right to go between them. I chose 3 screens. The far left screen is my main screen and it’s just simple with the core info I need when I turn my phone on. Email, text messages, missed calls, etc. The next one is the screen when I flick to the right. It has productivity items. The last one is the left flick and It’s going to act as a social media type control center. SPB needs to make a “Twitter” app rather than just this widget though.

The UI is just plain sexy. It takes over some other WinMo functions nicely.

Changing the look and feel of the widgets and their positioning is a snap. On the far right is the "carousel” that allows quick access to core functions of Mobile Shell, not to mention that it’s sexy as hell.

There is also a great deal of customization done to contacts and accessing them quickly. I really like the contact carousel too.

Here is a video demo…

Remember that you can grab this from our software store.

I have been using and loving Mobile Shell 3 since I got my Treo Pro a few months ago and I have been playing with 3.5 all day today…a lot of really nice improvements and refinements in this version.

Thus far, I definitely say it is a worthwhile upgrade.

i think 3.5 was released to early. lots of bugs and issues on my touch hd and there's a pretty busy forum at spb from other devices.

It's possible, but I have yet to run into a problem on my Treo Pro…doesn't mean there isn't one around the corner however.
