Verizon blows the doors off with the pricing of the HTC Touch Pro 2. At just $199.99 after a $100 mail-in rebate for one of the best, most powerful phones out right now, you can’t go wrong in my opinion. You do have to sign a new two-year customer agreement on a voice plan with an e-mail feature or e-mail plan, but that’s kind of standard.

Beginning Friday (Sept 11), customers can order the HTC Touch Pro2 online at www.verizonwireless.com, in business sales channels and in Verizon Wireless Communications Stores. For additional information on Verizon Wireless products and services, visit a Verizon Wireless Communications Store, call 1-800-2 JOIN IN or go to www.verizonwireless.com.

I am going to spare you all the “This is what I use and it’s the best thing since the wheel was invented” speech and I will just close with, if you use Verizon already and you are in the market for a smartphone, tomorrow is your day. Go get one, you won’t be sorry you did.

    Chris,
I read a review on PC Magazine about the Sprint flavor. They mentioned more of the same instability that I've certainly come to know with WM5 on my X51v. You've been using one of these TP2s now for a while. Be honest now – how often do you need to do a soft reset with your TP2? I'm looking for a phone that requires less than 1 soft reset per hour of use.

I know you aren't going to believe me, but it's the honest truth. In 2-3 months since I got the phone, I have only soft reset the phone 2-3 times. BUT… BUT… Read on. I am not the common user. I am no less of a “Power User” than most, but I don't put a bunch of after market apps on my devices. I only load 3-5 apps that I actually use on each device. I know that some people try all sorts of freeware, tweak their registry, etc… that can lead to instability. I did have Axim lock ups without a bunch of trash apps back in the day, but with most of the WInMo devices I have used in the last couple years, very few lock ups for me.

I'm on Verizon and aching for a new phone, but another 6.1 device?! 6.5 should be out and standard by now. Should I wait for the Samsung Omnia II?
