With all this talk of Android lately thanks to T-Mobile and Motorola, I almost forgot that the original Open Source Phone OS, LIMO (AKA Linux Mobile) is still out there and being tinkered with by thousands of little Linux Gnomes. More than that, according to the Boy Genius Report, Samsung and Vodafone may actually have a premium LIMO handset nearly ready to go.
Not much is known about it…it may be the Samsung Riedel l8305 that recently went through Wi-Fi certification, it appears to have an OLED touchscreen which has been said to have haptic feedback. It is also rumored to pack an 8MP camera.
BGR says that Vodafone has a special event planned for Sept 24th in London….could this be their answer to the Android –based Moto Cliq which has been getting so much praise since being announced yesterday? Either way, it looks like it is going to be a very hot winter for Smartphones.
