Here is a free application that replaces an unauthorized app that was initially available to check out the World of Warcraft Armory on your iPhone. This is a completely free application. If you don’t play World of Warcraft, it’s literally useless to you. For those that do, it’s pretty much a must have. You’re sitting at work and wondering why that level 80 Mage pwned you in the WSG (lingo only wow players know), you can look him up in this app and check out the uber PVP gear the dude has. That’s why you got pwned.

When you 1st fire the application up, you have a menu of items to query from the Armory database. The 2 items I use are the Characters and the Browse items. You can check out all you ever wanted to know about your own characters from the characters icon. You can browse items to dream about the next gear items you want. Down at the bottom of all the screens, you can navigate, search, and it also shows the icon of the character you set as your main character.

From the character selection, you get a choice to look at your characters or bookmarks you have set. If you select my characters, you will get a list of your characters. Your main character is highlighted.

After choosing a character, you get the familiar profile look. You can see by the 870 resilience, that I am logged out in my PVP set. You can look at many aspects of your profile with drop down menus. If you click on an item that is equipped, it brings up the stats, including your enchants and gems.

If you click “view item details” on the item listing, you can find out more about that item. In your profile, yu have a dropdown in the top bar that allows you to look at other areas like your Glyphs and Talents.

Here are the talents and glyph views from the drop down menu.

You can also look at your achievements from that same menu.

Here is the calendar and setting screens.

There is a news tab too (left). You can also browse the official Blizzard database for items.

Check out Blizzard’s Demo of the app…

Wrap Up
As I mentioned in the 1st paragraph, if you play Wow, this app is almost essential. It’s well done and well laid out. I have very little to complain aside from not being able to see your own bank contents. The app is free, so there is no excuse not to give it a try.

Pros:

  • Easy to use
  • Fast loading
  • Essential for World of Warcraft players
  • Free

Cons:

  • Show allow access to view your own bank contents.
