Screen-shot-2009-10-11-at-9.03.33-AM-400x365[1]Blackra1n, the tool to jailbreak iPhone OS 3.1 – 3.1.2 had been updated to RC2.  It fixes a few things that were present in RC1 such as 3G and tethering issues, and problems with the Icy package manager.  Also, this version is compatible with Mac OS X, so the Mac folks can get in on the simplicity.

As was before, Blackra1n will NOT sim unlock the iPhone.  It merely jailbreaks it.  An unlock is, however,  being worked on, not by geohot, but a member of the Dev Team.  Just be patient.

And a last note, if you jailbroke successfully with RC1, you don’t need to re-jailbreak it.
