This is a review of the Samsung Intrepid from Sprint.  Overall, I liked the phone.  It has a good build, and the software is impressive.  There were a few quirks here and there though.  …

There was a comment in reply to Verizon’s attack on the iphone here this morning by doogald that I really loved…

This is Verizon? How about iDont fully support Bluetooth, iDont use standard GPS, iDont let smartphones have WiFi, iDont have anything but a basic, crappy menu on all of my basic phones, iDont have applications except those in something called BREW. iDont let you put any CDMA phone on my network unless you bought it from me.

Pot, kettle. Verizon has a less than open past. (About as closed as a mobile phone company can be, actually.) You know the rest.

This is fine for the Droid – what about the rest of their phones?

Then I saw a tweet pointing to a post sharing a fans response to the iDon’t campaign. It’s well done too. Check it out after the break.

Whoever put it together did a great job to be honest. It’s well done and they claim that they are not affiliated with Apple. The user name is droiddont fittingly enough.

  • Ok, Verizon just showed why I am leaving them.

Unless they change something, right now the plan is to charge an extra $15 a month for anybody who wants Exchange access from the Droid. Data will cost $30 a month, or $45 if you want to use ActiveSync services.

  • wait a minute, so they don't buy brands that bash other products, yet this touts the iPhone...rich...*sigh* Fanboys *rolls eyes*

Except most of his points were either no longer true, flat-out wrong or debatable. See my reply there for the other side.

And is AT&T any better? Will they let you unlock your iPhone and move to T-Mobile? How long did they resist MMS?

And how about Apple? Have they released a phone on any other carrier in the U.S.? Will they let you install software that doesn't come from the App Store? is their OS open source?

Most carriers are greedy and have customer-unfriendly policies. Welcome to capitalism. :D

Verizon's history or not... if they do the droid "right", ie, let Android do everything it can do and allow the phone to use all of its hardware, I see this as being a very serious competitor to the iPhone.

I'm going to consider leaving AT&T for it.. that's how interested I am.
