Is this Windows Phone (Mobile) 7?

Have you seen the leaks of what might be Windows Phone 7? Some are calling these shots Design Concepts in which this would only be Proposals for WM7. Hear is what Pocketnow had to say:

We’ve seen the 6.5.1 leaks from WMExperts today that combined TouchFLO 3D and 6.5.1 together into a tidy package along with the leaks of the Windows Mobile 7 mockups earlier. Now, our very own tipster has delivered some exciting additional screenshots to pocketnow.com, giving us a peak of the Call screen, Calendar, Contact, Email, Text Messaging, and Settings!

6.5 on the top the proposed 7 on the bottom. They also note that these were meant for 6.5.1 but didn’t make it to the release. I guess we will have to wait and see. Anyway, is this more in line with what you would have liked to see with WP6.5?

These look better, and look very nice. However, unless Microsoft addresses the browser, performance and stability it's irrelevant how much eye candy they add. I've tried about every version of WM released including the latest builds of 6.5.x from XDA, and they are almost all memory hogs. I'm tired of my browser crashing or giving me an out of memory message every few hours. I'm tired of having to reboot daily to free up memory and regain stability. I just want it to work, and work fast. Why is that so difficult or Microsoft and their partners to understand. If MS or HTC invested half as much time into fixing my complaints, the eye candy would be irrelevant, as there are many, many third party shells that do a fantastic job with that already.

Have you tried a newer device. IE in a native 6.5 rom is much better than what I am seeing in the cooked roms. It still has a way to go to be as good as the browser on the iPhone but it is much better than IE mobile of old.
  • I think that looks much better. That said, I'm done with WM anyway. It's too late for me.
