MetroPCS Introduces its First Windows Mobile 6.1 Powered Handset

Well it looks like MetroPCS is getting into the Windows Mobile smart phone game. They have announced The Samsung Code a front facing qwerty smartphone running Windows Mobile 6.1. Take a look after the break for specs and press release.

    Regardless of the standard\pro issue, $50 for unlimited talk/text/data is a great thing... The big carriers are probably crying in their pillows.

    However, MetroPCS probably doesn't have 3g access

    No mention in the specs of a touch screen so I would say Standard.
  • I'm left with two questions.

    First, why are they releasing a WM 6.1 phone right after WM 6.5 came out? I realize that this was probably in the pipe for a while, but so was WM 6.5.

    Second, is this running WM 6.1 Pro or Standard? I'm thinking it might be WM 6.1 Standard if Samsung is shipping "WizPro" instead of "TouchWiz" (which is meant for touch screens).
