More Motorola Droid – Verizon Releases Demo Video + GSM

Posted by Chris Leckness on October 28, 2009 – 1:13 pm  Share

Verizon has released their own demo video of Droid a few minutes ago on YouTube…

If you are not wanting to swap over from AT&T or T-Mo to get a Droid, there might be hope. Engadget posted a video today showing a GSM version of the Droid. There was an FCC filing last week that showed the Droid with neccessary bands for 3G, so ya.. maybe guys, maybe. ( Motorola DROID spotted in fine GSM form (video))

  • Watching that video, it doesn't look as great as I thought it would. Those three home screens look pretty unattractive.

Verizon is touting the Droid as exclusive to Verizon, so, though there may be a GSM version, maybe not for a while. Or, could be that Verizon wants this to be one of their world phones, so if has both CDMA and GSM? Because, without the GSM, that's one thing that the Droid iDon't - travel to most of the world internationally.

Again, I'm coming off my VZW contract in December, the iPhone makes a lot of sense for me. I'll have to play with one of these to see if it's good enough to avoid the number portability hassle.
