Palm Pre Ownership costs $1250 less than iPhone 3GS or Droid?

That’s what Billshrink says at least. It’s a generalized comparison assuming that everyone is going to grab unlimited data and voice. This plays into Sprint’s hand no matter what device it is since Sprint’s unlimited voice/date package is unparalleled at this time. So it doesn’t matter what phone you put up against it using those numbers. Of course, if you throw out the unlimited voice, that number shrinks quite a bit, but Sprint still wins out in this scenario too.

Actually, it should be cheaper on T-Mobile's now that they have the Even More Plus plans
  • From what I see, T-Mobile and the MyTouch matched Sprint's price. In fact, if you bought an unlocked version, they beat Sprint by $151.

Other than less storage and no physical keyboard, the MyTouch beat the Pre in specs and has a much larger app store.

  • I definitely do not need unlimited voice. And I think that Sprint's past customer service issues continue to come back to bite them - I think that they lost customers who will never go back.
