Photoshop.com For iPhone

This is Adobe’s version of Photoshop for the iPhone.  Well, that’s what they call it anyway.  It’s not really the big advanced photo editor we know on Windows and Macs.  It’s more of a basic photo editor for editing things like color intensity, adding some filters, and so on.  It also allows you to sign in with your

photoshop.com account and upload your edited pictures.

It’s free in the app store.  It’s kind of useful if your pictures don’t come out as clear, too dark, or too bright.

After the break I’ve put up a few screenshots and a short demo of the program…

This is the main screen where you can choose what photo to edit.

To show you some of the features of the app, I’ll edit this picture of my cat:

Meet Cici!

So we load the picture into the app, and this is the main editing screen.

So this is the main screen.  On the top row we have some picture tools, from left to right: The Crop and Flip menu, the Color menu, the Filters menu, and the Effects menu.  On the bottom row, we have the exit button, the undo and redo buttons, and the save picture button.

So I’ll show you a few things.  Let’s start with crop.

Select crop and you will be presented with the screen on the left.  Drag the box to the area you want to crop and tap the check mark.  The result is shown on the right.

Then we have flip.

Just select flip from the menu and drag your finger in the direction you want to flip.  Confirm by tapping the check mark.

If we look at the color menu, we have options to adjust the saturation, exposure, tint, or just make the pic black and white.

You can’t really tell but this picture is somewhat brighter.

USA Network, please.

There’s also a feature under the filters menu called sketch.  It lessens the amount of colors in the picture to make it look somewhat like a drawing.

For identity purposes, this cat has asked to be interviewed in shadow.

Maximum sketch on the left, minimal on the right.  The picture wasn’t taken in the best lighting, so Cici’s face appears all black in the maximum sketch.

Finally, we have the menu for effects.  Here are a few to demonstrate:Effects menu

All in all it’s a very nice app.  It provides the basic photo editing features that you see on the Windows Mobile pictures app, and it adds a few fun filters for you to play with.  If you like to take alot of pictures, I would recommend this app.
