Remap the Push to Talk Button on the HTC Tilt 2

Posted by Chris Leckness on October 30, 2009 – 3:04 am

Does anyone actually use the PTT buttons that AT&T puts on their phones? I sure as hell don’t and I can’t count the number of times I have inadvertently pressed it only to have to clear the dialog. There is a huge issue with the button mapping on these WinMo phones that AT&T puts out there. You can’t map the PTT button. There is a solution though and Phil from WMexperts can tell you how. Be warned that you will need to download some software from XDA to get this going. I believe it‘s worth it though.

I can remap the PTT button on my Tilt 2 with the built in software. (start -> settings -> Buttons) I set mine to run Voice Command the day I got it. I also remapped the Send Key(hold) from Voice Command to e-mail.

This app looks great and I think I'll try it for it's other features. You just need it for the PTT button.

Sorry - You just don't need it for the PTT button

A paid program that I have that is very nice for reprogramming buttons is AE Button Plus. It permits users to remap various hardware buttons, and even can multiprogram a given button via single press, double or triple press or even long press. It can also map phone and volume slider buttons and run applications. Pretty cool app!
