After the break, I have a screenshot tour of the base install of Windows Mobile 6.5. Make sure to click the thumbnails to check them out full size.
Above left is the new “Today Screen”. On the right is the launcher like menu. It replaces the Windows like dropdown menu Windows Mobile users have grown accustomed to. Read on for a full deck of screenshots. Also make sure to check out the other parts of our Windows Mobile 6.5 coverage.

The above 12 screens are just Today Screen looks.

From left to right… Pop up notification of a call. This seems to be skinned by TouchFlo 3D though. Next is our contact application. Notice the letters on the right. The next image shows how the contact search looks in real time. I type V and it finds people with V in their name and each new letter narrows it down even more. The last screen shows the contact after I found and selected Val Snow.

The contact card allows for notes. This would be great for putting some details on people you meet at trade shows to detail what their line of business, etc are. The contact menu button offers options. The 3rd screen from the left shows your typical email inbox full of mail. The last one shows the “menu” items for the outlook folder view screen.

Deeper Outlook menus and options.

Autofind works when addressing email too. Look on the left, I typed V again and it shows 3 contacts that I have email addresses for that have V in their names.

A little SMS action followed by the dialer and another shot of a contact.

Menu options for the phone app. Next to that is recent calls. Next up is the Today screen again with music playing using the media widget/submenu. The the HTC volume controls from TouchFlo 3D.

The camera application then random start menu shots.
![]()
A couple more Start menu shots, the communications settings and connection set up. (both part of TouchFlo 3D though).

Today Screen settings for appearance and Today Screen items. The sound and notification settings. The lock screen, which is now similar to the iPhone’s lock screen, except that it shows more info.

Just another theme on the Today Screen. Yet another theme showing the Start menu. File Explorer. Finally, the steps in the getting started application.

Games. FM Radio app requires headphones to be plugged in, too bad the HTC Pure doesn’t have a 3.5mm audio jack. Another Start Menu shot.

MyPhone not updated at the time of making screenies.
All these we put up for those that like screen shots. For those that like videos, check out the video 1st look post.
