The talented Mary Jo Foley of ZDNet’s “All About Microsoft” Blog posted some interesting information about the possibility of Microsoft developing a Mac version of it’s Zune software. Could this be another step towards better establishing the ZuneHD brand as a device for all users and will there be a Linux version to follow?
This would provide a few substantial benefits and can be sure Microsoft will take a detailed look into the efficacy of such an undertaking. Such as iTuens users wanting a subscription service, users avoiding creating virtual environments of Windows XP on a Mac just to use the software, minimizing the number of people that ask for a Mac version of the software and most importanly increasing the possibility for additional Zune owners to come forward.
I say if iTunes is available for Mac and PC, so should the Zune software. Now we just need to find some obnoxious software (Quicktime, Bonjour etc.) to be installed on a Mac during the Zune software install. It’s only fair.
So I ask you:
- Do you want to see a Mac version of the Zune software?
- And do you own a Mac or plan to move to using one in the future?
