kohjinsha_notebook-620x288 Well, maybe not ATTACKS exactly, more like “Goes on sale in”, but the headline was too good to pass up. Either way, the Kohjinsha DZ6KH16E is certainly the Godzilla of netbooks, boasting two sliding 10.1 inch screens. I have always loved Kohjinsha’s vision and it’s unique take on mobile products, and the DZ6KH16E is no exception. Even if you feel the dual screens are impractical, you have to admit it would draw plenty of attention when you slide this bad boy open at your local Starbucks. Let’s face it, geek chic adulation is the name of the game when we are talking pricey Japanese imports, isn’t it?

If you don’t happen to live in Japan, for once you aren’t out of luck. The DZ6KH16E is available from Geek Stuff 4 U for $1,111.28 (but remember, this is a Japanese device, so take that into account regarding keyboard arrangement).

Check out the specs for this wide-screen beauty after the jump.

The DZ6KH16E is available with Windows 7 Home Premium in French or English preloaded (for an additional fee), but comes with a default Linux/OS Free installation gratis. The device has the following quite respectable specs…

  • Dual 10.1 screens with1,024×600 resolution and LED backlights
  • Athlon Neo MV-40 (1.6GHz) CPU with a RS780MN chipset
  • ATI Radeon HD 3200 graphics card
  • 1GB of RAM (upgradeable to 4GB),
  • 160GB HDD
  • 802.11 b/g/n WiFi
  • Three USB ports
  • 1.3MP web camera,
  • Bluetooth 2.1+EDR
  • SD/microSD/MMC/memory stick Card reader
  • Digital TV tuner (which will work only in Japan and parts of South America)
  • 4.5 hours of battery life.

If you are stuck for a Hanukkah gift to get for me…I humbly suggest the Kohjinsha DZ6KH16E may just fit the bill….no need to bother with a card.

Zealot has been involved with mobile devices for more than a decade now, starting off with dumb phones, moving to PDAs and then to smartphones, notebooks and netbooks with the odd PMP thrown in. Most of his mobile time currently is spent on a Treo Pro, Zune HD, Thinkpad T61, Gigabyte M912M or a Hackintoshed Compaq Mini 704. He proudly groks the Geek community and considers himself a Neo Maxi Zune Dweebie (thanks Will Wheaton!).

  • Haha. Japanese design never fails to amuse/amaze me.

A DVD drive would just about complete this monster. As it is, I would have to connect my DIGISTOR USB DVD drive when I ask my mom to buy this when she comes back from Tokyo. Hehe.

    Geekiness rules!
