Well, how about about in another week and a half? According to a leaked O2 Germany document the European version of the Droid (in GSM of course) is going to be called the Monolith (OK, I dig the whole Droid marketing shtick but admit it, Monolith is a MUCH more dignified name) and will be available in Germany through O2 on November 9th 2009.
The document is aimed at O2 Germany’s business customers and the pricing indicated (€404.20 before taxes, or $595 for you Yanks) likely is without contract, but I have no doubt the phone will be available for normal subscribers as well. I find it interesting that in Germany, rather than being billed as a consumer iPhone killer it seems to be being focused as the ultimate phone for the enterprise.
No details as to whether the phone will be an O2 exclusive, and when it will be available in other parts of Europe. No sign of the Milestone on the O2 UK website, but if it is carried by O2 UK that will be quite a brawl….iPhone and Pre and Milestone (Droid) all on one carrier. I would kill to see the sales demographics.
