Paul Thurrott over at Winsupersite has posted part one of his review of WM6.5 and has made some interesting comments on the improvements made to the Mobile OS and how to him they are not as bad as many claim, rather some are better than what the iPhone has to offer. What make this review interesting, is Paul is not a fan of Windows Mobile and has stated numerous times he thinks the iPhone is the best smartphone on the market. He also makes some revealing statements as regards the reasoning for the default today screen, which makes one think Microsoft is working toward tighter integration between its platforms.

Microsoft is also promoting the notion of Windows Mobile being an equal peer with other Windows (and Windows-related) releases, including Windows 7 on the desktop, Windows Server on the server, Windows Azure on the cloud, and Media Center, Xbox 360 and Zune on the TV. The company calls this strategy “three screens and a cloud,” by the way, and it’s likely you’ve heard this phrase if you’ve attended any Microsoft events this year. The three screens refer to the PC, phone, and TV, all of which are tied to back-end, cloud-based services.

Of course I may be reading more into this than is there,but you have to admit if you look at the interface for the Zune HD, Windows Media center and WM 6.5 to do look alike. Hit the read link for Paul’s article.
