Rolltop

Since long time ago I have not seen a notebook design that I could had called innovative. All looks the same but this one, the Rolltop from Orkin Design.

It’s hard to believe that what you are seen in the above picture is a notebook. If you don’t believe it check the video in their page.

  • Rollable chiclet keyboards have existed for a while, and rollable screens are starting to come out, so I guess this was just a matter of time.

I saw this concept in a Tech magazine from MIT about 8 years ago. They had a flexible rollup screen with a laser projected keyboard - all in a tube not much bigger than a paper towel tube. I'll have to try and find the magazine...

I'd love to see an actual model as opposed to a model of a model. My company mades a lot of glitzy 3D videos for some major tech players, so I'm a little jaded to 3D animation movies of products. I want to see the real deal in the flesh. Though like Snow1985 says I'm wondering how well it would hold up to extended use. Very clever concept, nonetheless.

Lol, that is a innovative design. I would be worried about how it would hold with good use, and how much space it will take up when caring it. Oh and the first picture looks likes a fancy razor.
