HTC-HD2 A tweet from an HTC Marketing type in Russia indicates that the HD2 will be the only “communicator” to get Windows Mobile 7 when it’s available. Just like Engadget, I would really hate to know that the HD2 is the ONLY current device that will be retrofitted. The Touch Pro 2 and others deserve the WinMo 7 love too, right? At any rate, here’s the translated tweet.

For Diamond 2 firmware is not planned. Of the existing communicators on the market, only the HD2 firmware to get WM7.

That is good new for those that are planning on taking the plunge. Keep in mind that the “Rumored” T-Mobile version owners will be at the mercy of the carrier, but HTC is good at moving that process along. Yes, in case you missed it a few weeks ago, there is a strong chance that T-Mo will be the HD2 carrier here in the USA early 2010.

In other Windows Mobile news, apparently the cat’s out of the bag on Windows Mobile 6.5.3…

WMExperts posted a headline yesterday that read, “MSDN Outs Windows Mobile 6.5.3". An internal leak is always good. I mean this is not ground breaking news, we’ve all known of it unofficially for quite some time, but it’s always good to get something officially unofficial by mistake. That’s what the above screenshot has done in this case.

Is the HD2 news a shocker too? No, not really… it only makes sense.

      I wish they would be more transparent. You hate to buy a new device only to have something better announced the next week. I guess if they were we would all wait and they wouldn't keep selling us devices.

      There's no confirmation of HTC HD2 owners getting a Windows Mobile 7 upgrade. The rumor seems to have come from someone with a Twitter account in Siberia. False hope, everyone.

      Do you know there was a special forum dedicated for our beloved phones, yes, it's http://www.HTCHD2Forum.com.
      The HTC Hd2 is my third HTC device and man it's great! I knew it had twice the clock speed compared to my Diamond but could never imagine the difference to be that huge.

      Anyway, I know a little bit about WM and can hopfully help people.

      The latest rumors are that NO Windows Mobile devices will be upgraded to WM 7 (or Windows Phone 7 or whatever). This means that the HTC HD2 won't be upgraded, of course.

      I suppose it's still possible that it will get WM 6.5.3, though.
