Fusion Garage, the company working with TechCrunch on the CrunchPad had a video conference today regarding the controversy of the CrunchPad and working with Michael Arrington.  They claim that the company was already working on this device and the only thing Arrington and Co. brought to the table was marketing.  Assuming that is the truth, then Fusion Garage is bringing the tablet to market as the Joo Joo with preorders starting on December 11.  Your $499 will buy you a 12.1” capacitive touch screen, 4GB of SSD storage, Wi-Fi, and roughly 5 hours of battery life.   The tablet will boot in less than 10 seconds to a Unix-based “Web OS” which is just like it sounds.  You get a HTML5 compatible web browser and that is it.  Fusion Garage wasn’t any more specific than that on specs however they did mention that it will be capable of handling full HD video.  That sounds to me like an Intel Atom with NVidia Ion under that screen but I’m just speculating.

At $499, this thing had better deliver the goods because that is much higher than the price Arrington had wanted to bring the CrunchPad to market at.  Now if only we can get this bad boy running Chrome OS……. :)
