This site is not responsible for any misunderstanding. Not too long ago, Volkswagon decided to market their new 2010 GTI in the form of an iPhone App in it’s name. They got 1000s of people to download the app because a) It’s not a bad free racing app and b) Playing the game entered you into a contest where there was a chance to win a 2010 GTI. During this promotion, I got a couple text messages saying I was entered. About a week ago, I got another text saying that the sweepstakes was over.
The next and hopefully last text I got was a smart, smart, but unwelcome text. Based on my area code, this text linked me to their website as well as provided me a number for my local Volkswagon dealer.
What do you think of this type advertising? Smart? Spammy?
I realize that I signed up for it when I registered, but really I don’t want this stuff. I opted out and I suspect it’s legit and will be honored.
