I share something in common with Linus Torvalds, we own a phone but we don’t use it as a phone. I personally end my month with 10 minutes in my voice account.

But I have to admit, the Nexus One is a winner. I wasn’t enthusiastic about buying a phone on the internet sight unseen, but the day it was reported that it finally had the pinch-to-zoom thing enabled, I decided to take the plunge. I’ve wanted to have a GPS unit for my car anyway, and I thought that google navigation might finally make a phone useful.

Wow, Linus didn't have GPS in his car? I was using my Compaq iPAQ for GPS navigation back in late 2001/early 2002 (Pocket CoPilot 2.0 with the ALK/Navman GPS sleeve). Since then, I've used CF and/or Bluetooth GPS receivers with my iPAQs (CoPilot), Mobile Crossing GPS Pocket PCs (a custom version of Mapopolis), Motorola Qs (Garmin Mobile XT) and now my Samsung Omnia (Garmin Mobile XT).
