RIP, HTC DROID Eris. The DROID Eris has been removed from Verizon’s website, and with new DROIDs coming soon, it’s probably time for it to go anyway. In case you don’t remember, it launched with the Motorola DROID, and it was the mid-range Android phone that Verizon offered.

  • Unless Verizon was interested in a really low end Android phone, delisting the Eris just makes sense. With the new Droid X, the Droid, the Incredible, the Devour, and the Ally, plus the Droid 2 which is supposed to be coming soon, I'm not sure that the Eris was needed.

That said, I love the size of the Eris. I wish that the manufacturers would keep making a phone this size, instead of the bricks that everyone seems to be making now. The Ally is close, but it's still bigger.
