Droid-Life is at it again! They tipped by one of their readers who got an opportunity to sit down and play with the DROID 2 for a little bit. Their tipster answered a few important questions, and it seems like an August launch is looking good. Here’s a few details:

  • The phone the tipster handled was running Android 2.2, Froyo. If you can’t tell from the screenshot.
  • The DROID 2 does have the same Blur-esque skin found on the DROID X.
  • The keyboard on the DROID 2 is supposedly amazing, which is nice since the original DROID didn’t have the hottest keyboard.
  • The look and feel is very similar to the original DROID. Gone with gold, in the silver.

It’s definitely shaping up to be an interesting device. Motorola did fix up a few things it seems like, and it’s definitely looking to be the true successor of the DROID! Hopefully we’ll see an official release soon!

You might want to correct the title as this is the Droid 2 not the Droid X
  • That's been done. Thanks.
