All that said, are you stating that Sprite Backup does not make executable backups or that Sprite does not work as well as Spb backup on both platforms you tested?
The reason I ask is because I do create executable backups with Sprite on my X50V with WM2K3.2 and need to know if this functionality is not available on WM5 with Sprite.
Thanks.

Correct ... this functionality is not available in Sprite for WM5 - They now create a directory on the storage card (assuming you select the checkbox) called SD Card\Program Files\Sprite Backup. Inside of this directory is the required files for Sprite backup. When a backup is created it simple creates a compressed .pbf file. In order to restore (after a hard reset) you have to go the above directory, start Sprite backup and then select this .pbf file. This supposedly keeps the backup file smaller and improves the backup time. However Spb managed to do this and make the compressed files smaller...
Spb creates self executing files like Sprite used to do.
