It should have asked you at installation if you were installing a trial or registered version and you should have chosen trial. If you did not see that or did not choose that you might reinstall.

The setup defaulted to the trial version and I did not change it. After the installation was complete the application would not go beyond the registration screen. I am at a loss at this point.
