Actually, the phonebook issue (seperate entry for mobile, home, work, etc) can be fixed.
Go to the phonebook and press the menu key.
Select Setup.
Go to View and change it to 'Primary Contacts'
The phonebook will now display on the contacts name. You can use the left and right key to cycle through work/home/mobile when a particular contact's name is highlighted.
