GSPlayer has a MIDI plugin, and it sounds fine. Only a couple of megs for the instrument set; not that bad bearing in mind that it sounds better than your average cellphone. :)
I'm actually astonished that ASAP came first... maybe Picard is a retro chiptune fan like me :)
