Aximsiteactivesyncicon Connection profiles, Bluetooth Cell phones and activesync - argh!

I'm a fairly experienced PPC user; I can normally get these things to work.. But, my new x51v is causing me some issues. Here's the problem, when I go to Start, Settings, Connections, Connections, Advanced, Select Networks, and choose the following options:

For Programs that connect to the INTERNET I've created a profile called "Bluetooth".

For Programs that connect to a private network, I've selected My Work Network.

Bluetooth is configured with CingularGPRS dial-up. *99#, ISP@CINGULARGPRS.COM, CINGULAR1, etc.. I've also choosen the under Proxy Settings "This network connects to the Internet".

My Work Network is basically blank (I do have a VPN configured, but, that's not being used anyways, so, not an issue), and, here's the problem, I TRY to select the "This network connects to the Internet" on the work profile too, but, when I click on the OK button after putting a check mark in the box and go back into the connection profile to make sure it's REALLY there, it really isn't... It's blank again. It's just not saving the check mark for me, and thus it causes Activesync to not sync with the exchange server when the wifi is turned off and the device is in the cradle.

So, essentially the question is this: How can I make the PPC work whereby if there is NO wifi, it will dialup the cell phone, and it will use the activesync network connection if needed to connect to the exchange server.
