uninstall activesync properly, then delete the activesync folder under programs. this the best you can do. some dlls will be left behind and you will not know which ones. Also there maybe registry entries. Every time Imess with those directly I end up with the real answer. Format the hard drive and reload wlindows.

I researched this recently when I found that my Axim X50v still misbehaved after reverting from WM5 back to WM2003SE.
In my case I was trying to revert ActiveSync from 4.1 to 3.8, so this may not be the complete solution for you, but what I found was there are two DLLs that ActiveSync 4.1 uninstall does not remove (and so in my case ActiveSync 3.8 used them because they are newer than its own versions):
rapi.dll
ceutils.dll
And regarding removing all traces from the registry - there seems to be a lot of stuff in the registry with ActiveSync in its name that is needed for other non-ActiveSync stuff to work (as I discovered when I cleaned up

). So be careful with that axe Eugene
