1. My big problem is the bloat. It's too much for what I need. The Palm PIM software I used to use was fine, it was just simple.

2. I'm on an older laptop all the time, and Outlook takes forever to load. And like I said, for just a desktop version of tasks, calendar and contacts, all the extra junk included is just stuff I don't need that slows down the app.

Let me preface that I don't like MS products in general, however I don't want that to be the focus of this question. I'm simply looking for a slimmed down desktop application that can give me control over my information that doesn't have the bells and whistles that Outlook does.

I can only assume that there are other options, however I have not had any luck with Google or anywhere else, which is why I figured I'd check here. :)
