Well, ya learn something every day. I guess I was getting this confused with the need to "make up" an entry to address "the great disappearing CF card caper."

Now the next puzzle. Will this "specific" IP address solution work when two different computers are synched, which I do? Can the same IP addresses be established for two different computers?

I think I just answered my own questions. Here is what I experienced.

The IP address is apparently generated by the handheld, because the IP addresses after connection to each computer were identical via the "Use server-assigned IP address" setting.

However, when I set the Remote-NDIS Host to "Use specific IP address", and then entered the specific IP address, the handheld would not connect (sync), even after removing it from cradle or turning it on and off, etc.

Here is a key question: My x51v has the built in Dell Wireless Adapter. Why wouldn't I set the IP address in that adapter instead of through the Remote-NDIS Host?
