There's a download link at gigabar.com that takes you right to CNet. Gigabar sits on the task bar. You can customize it to do a lot of different things, but the general idea is that when a program is running, it's icon is displayed on the left. You can tap the icon to switch to this ap, or tap-hold to close the ap. So it's an easy way to manage which aps are running while not taking any main screen real estate.

On the right, you get Gigibar icons that let you do things. You can assign up to 10 actions to each Gigabar icon. Working from right to left, I use date/time, PPC status (battery and mute), and memory status (shows % memory used plus whether the PPC is looking for an "OK" input). With these 3 icons I can assign 30 functions. I use Gigibar to hide the OK and cancel buttons, and reassign those functions to Gigibar icons. You have access to all PPC functions through Gigabar ... from mute, brightness, cut/paste ... plus you can launch any program.

Finally, Gigabar is skinable. It comes with several schemes (combinations of icons, functions, and skins) to get you started.

This is an incredibly stable program. It has never crashed or given me any problems. It's pretty small considering all it does (< 350K plus skins & schemes). And, it's free.
