I have a pda set aside for my 65+ year old non-english speaking father-in-law to use for internet radio. A daily reset would:
- remove any error messages the pda may have been left with or clean up any bad state it may be in. windows media player is not the most robust app but what can I do if I need to play asx/mms streams?
- to reset the wifi connection since a few daily suspend/unsuspends may sometimes make the device not connect to the access point
- restart any programs that run from startup in case they got closed or crashed.

So I'm trying to make the device 'appear' as reliable as possible, minimize any error messages from popping up, and of course reduce any hands-on tech support from me. I really don't think it's going to work out if I have to say to him, "If you see this screen, press this, and if this happens, do that, and stick this in there if this and that doesn't work." If I knew of a way to make it run a few commands the instant the device is unsuspended, such as to reset the wifi, I'll probably do that as well. Heck, if I could, I may even go as far as to make the device soft-reset if the device is unsuspended. Sure there is a little wait for it to boot up, but at least the experience will be consistent and reliable.

So I got myself a copy of skschema and have done the following:
- scheduled a nightly reset and then a shutdown (sprite backup can do this as well).
- a link to a script that will turn off wifi, turn on wifi, and play a wav file to signal that wifi is back on.

Lets see how it goes...
