I was trying to do what your trying to do. I had luck using this forum. This is what i have done.

I downloaded the Fair Use program (if you just search it on this forum you'll get the link)

I also downloaded the TCMP program (Again you can search this forum and get the link)

I then purchased a usb CF reader. Using the guide i made the file (it's an .avi file) using Fair Use (free program for download) takes about 2-3hrs for it to do the job. The file created, i simply transfer over to the CF card using the reader (better option then via cradle) and i've had great results.

So Fair Use to convert DVD to the avi file, TCMP to view the file on my axium.

The setting on Fair use i usually tried various settings, the one that worked best was 300mb file created using Fair use for English movies. the voice data i set to 98mHz, the sound is fine.

Good luck, i can only say this forum has worked for me. It's all trial and error. But i can assure you that i'm having a blast.
