Once you extract the text from the pdb (search google, they are out there), and use MSWord to format the text to the way you want it, convert to .lit (using the word-to-lit converter from MS), it looks fine.

Personally, I found the MS Lit reader too slow, takes a long time to load, unable to change the background color, etc. I started extracting the text from my .lit files (use google) and using the Mobipocket reader converting the books to their format. I find the Mobireader much faster, has the auto-scroll function and the ability to change the background (makes it easier reading in bed) to a darker color.

Now all of my books are in Mobi format, plus their new reader allows you to grab web content (newspapers, blogs, etc) and dump it into their format and automatically send to either main memory or sdcard. Good luck.
